Special Edition: Pygmy Puff Love
More pictures of the pygmy puffs because…pygmy puffs… (and because I tried really hard to make each one unique)!
(Several of these will be up for grabs very soon at my Etsy shop!!)
√ Kiki Halloween Costume
With Halloween quickly approaching, I realized I never posted last year’s costume: Kiki, from Studio Ghibli’s Kiki’s Delivery Service. I was able to piece together most of the costume from my existing wardrobe, but also made a felt bow, and Jiji by sculpting black ethafoam and polymer clay (for the eyes).
I absolutely love this movie, and although most of the young trick-or-treaters didn’t know who I was, I still thought I was pretty darn adorable.

√ Pygmy Puff Party Favors
"Pygmy Puffs," 2014, polymer clay, acrylic paint, and pom pom balls.
These adorable creatures are by far one of my favorite projects from my Hogwarts-themed birthday party and I hope my guests were just as thrilled to take one home.
As you can hopefully tell from the pictures, the construction wasn’t too difficult, but the sculpting and painting was fairly time-consuming. Possible future addition to my Etsy shop?
√ Create/Send Personalized Hogwarts-themed Birthday Party Invitations
So I’m turning 30 next month and decided that the only way to celebrate becoming a real adult, was by having an over-the-top, Hogwarts-themed party.
Initially, I thought about creating actual, physical invitations and sending them via some sort of owl delivery system, but using Paperless Post (https://www.paperlesspost.com/) my guests will receive an animated envelope invitation that I thought (although sans owl) was still pretty cool.
√ Custom Wedding Placemat
Such a great idea! This couple met while working at Dumser’s in Ocean City, and the bride-to-be asked me to create a personalized, Dumser’s-inspired placemat for their wedding.
Featuring a custom word search, coloring page (the groom is big into fishing), and connect-the-dots of the their dogs, this menu is definitely one of the greatest wedding favors I’ve ever worked on!
Congratulations to one of my very favorite couples!!
I am feeling incredibly grateful (and completely dumbfounded) by all of the support for my Harry Potter Artifact illustrations! So much so, that in honor of my post reaching over 50,000 likes (wow!!) I am going to try my hand at a giveaway.
I’ve made seven small (3 x 3 in.) drawings of one artifact featured in each book. I will choose seven names at random and send you your own little piece of awesome!
HOW TO ENTER:
1. Follow me and like or re-blog THIS post (so I know you’re interested) AND you must be willing to give me your postal address. (Also, a picture of the drawings in their new home/with their new owners would be nice!)
DATE OF DRAW:
Sunday, August 31st, 2014 (and will be announced as soon as I have all seven confirmed winners).
I will contact the seven winners on this date and give them 48 hours to respond to my Ask (and make sure they want their prizes!).
P.S. If you don’t win, don’t worry! I’ve made a whole batch of things I’ll be adding very soon to my Etsy shop (with postcard prints coming soon!!) and I happily take commissions!
√ Send Save-the-Dates for Hogwarts-themed Birthday Party
I did it, I actually did it! I just sent out Save-the-Dates for my Hogwarts-themed birthday party (using “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” owl post/ message feature).
No turning back! The only thing left to do (besides the endless list of Hogwarts decorations, food, and party favors to prepare), is to…
√ Minecraft Commission
In addition to learning all about Minecraft while working on this commission, I also learned that; I. Hate. Painting. Pixels.
√ Recycled Art Crate Bookcase
Boy was this a lot of work! But it’s fantastic storage and makes the perfect bookshelf for my studio.

No I wouldn’t mind at all, but I would definitely love to see the results!
